The Kintamani are a dog breed native to the Indonesian island of Bali and are one of the oldest dog breeds in the world. They are the only official dog breed of that region. They are most genetically aligned with the Australian Dingo. The Kintamani live in the vicinity of an active volcano, in which in the the event of an eruption they would not be able to ecsape to a safer location. Due to this threat, many Bali dwellers have moved to other places. Although some have been adopted into households and animal shelters, there are still hundreds of Kintamani relying on the local residents that feed them to survive.

Organizations like BAWA (Bali Animal Welfare Association) have already began finding solutions to solve this problem. From giving meals to wild Kintamani to finding households willing to adopt the dogs into their care, BAWA has already made a huge impact on handling this issue. BAWA is run by Janice Girardi, who's team helps thousands of Kintamani's each year by running rehab and adoption programs and educating local residents and tourists on solutions and advocacy programs.

Although this is already this is helping bring the Kintamani closer to saftey, other Animal Oragnizations like Best Friends Animal Society and Humane Society of the United States can help too. Also the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, and the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, can help provide funds and tactics to help save this dog breed. Surrounding countries of Southeast Asia and Oceania can provide aid to the Kintamani and BAWA.

I hope this petition can educate people on this issue and convince some to pitch in to the efforts of helping the Kintamani and possibly saving this dog breed from going extinct.
