I absolutely believe public education is the foundation of a democracy so that every citizen across society has equal opportunity to read, write, and discern information. Texas has this in it constitution and it must be honored by elected officials. Our children are suffering under the current business model of funding schools is becoming more and more detrimental by making prohibitive the time for education practices of value to time to teach test taking skills.

Our students need more support from our government to get the necessary education for their future. Teachers should also be given a raise so we can keep our trained personnel. Thanks for your consideration.

I see the huge class sizes, the underpaid support staff, and the underfunded arts departments in my school district. I see the unfounded mandates coming from Austin that keep out district from being solvent. I also see some schools with enough funding to afford a water park and instruments for every band student 6-12. Something isn’t right. Fix this legislative branch. Make this right.
