Why this petition matters

Started by jwu .

Since the recent Coronavirus outbreak, many schools have closed their doors and students have moved home to continue classes online. This means that work study students are no longer able to fulfill their job and receive the rest of their funds. But, keep in mind, work study is a government program and the money students receive is from the government and not from the university.

Since this change, Johnson & Wales University refuses to give students the rest of their wage even though the U.S. Board of Education instructed them to do so. Johnson & Wales University is keeping money from college students that could be helping them in this time of need. Not to mention this is government money, not the university’s money to keep.

By signing this, every work study student at Johnson & Wales University will receive their wages that were set aside for them to help them financially throughout the school year.
