Makeda Scott took a boat to Lake Macbride on June 7th. She went with a coworker. There are conflicting stories on how she fell into the water, as well as the extent her coworker went to help her. 911 was called after she didn't resurface at around 5:31 PM. 

Her coworker, as well as a few other men nearby (fishers), were already back at the docks when emergency services arrived. This lead to an assumption of where she was when she drowned. They claim they searched for four hours on Sunday, as well as four hours the next day, when they retrieved the body. She was found between the two original markers and was pronounced dead at 1:10 PM.

The investigators have continued to tell her mother that Makeda’s death was an accident even though the investigation is not complete and they haven’t received the autopsy and toxicology reports.
