On August 6, the Johnson county board of commissioners passed a mask mandate for all K-6th students for the start of the school year. This mandate came Symantec and weeks after most school boards in the county already voted on their own masking and Covid protocols for how to start the year.
This petition is to encourage the JoCo board of commissioners to rescind their mandate and allow the individual school boards to make their own decisions on what is best for their individual students and constituents. Additionally, this will be sent to the Kansas Attorney General asking for him to step in.
