ICE recently released a directive deciding whether international students will be able to return for the fall based on the method of instruction decided by their university.

JHU decided to go hybrid which forces international students to come back to campus. However, the decision to move classes online after Thanksgiving break means that these students will not fulfill the requirements of having a hybrid system each week of the semester and as such they can't enter/stay in the US. This places students in a double bind because the ICE directive prevents them from attending these classes online and neither can they take them at Hopkins. For students in this situation, JHU has warned  there will be a break in their SEVIS continuity leading to negative impacts in their prospectives post graduation.

This petition is for Hopkins to create a 1 credit class for international students that runs till the end of the semester, allowing them to continue their education without a break, and maintain their visa status.
