Grad students are essential to the continuing growth and development of society. Especially in the current crisis, all forms of research must be continued for the good of all. I support full worker rights for grad assistants including union rights.

It is imperative to provide protections to graduate students facing the disruptions of COVID-19 to their research and teaching work. Support these "essential employees" and our next generation of thinkers, leaders, researchers and instructors! JHU has the resources - use them!

Because this is a time of necessary care. People spend their time working for you, and especially in an academic setting, bolstering your good name. In this time of trial, it is your ethical imperative to take responsibility for these people who have already given you so much, probably at a disproportionate amount as you have given them. Make up for it now. Show them why they work at JHU.

Grad students and employees may not be able to compansate for the time and money they lost in the mean time due to Corona pandemic. It is the universities' responsibility to prevent them suffer from the consequences.

The university is leading the global response to covid 19, but can't seem to get it's act together enough to provide international researchers with reliable information on what we should be doing. I find it appalling that the university is telling some of us who are working in underdeveloped countries with low state capacity to "follow local advice" on covid. What planet are they living on? All the university seems to care about is it's labs and on campus liability. Not the health and well-being of its employees.
