Disapprove funeral home and its driveway on 10900 Bell Road, Johns Creek - Case RZ-13-016

Owners for the 10900 Block of Bell Road in Johns Creek plan to build a funeral home right in the middle of a densely populated, residential area. Fulton county had approved a C1 zoning on this land in 1967, when probably this was a rural area. This is an inappropriate place to build a funeral home.

The Case RZ-13-016 is to add a driveway to the "future funeral home". Bell Road is already congested and adding this driveway will aggravate the situation further. Can the city control traffic during funeral processions? There are no funeral homes in a large area around Johns Creek, hence this funeral home will attract a lot of traffic.

Behind the proposed funeral home is the subdivision Reserve at Foxdale, across from it is Johns Creek Walk and Abbotts Bridge Place. The Formaldehyde and Mercury from embalming and cremation of bodies are carcinogens and are hazardous to health. It pollutes air, water sources and soil.

Accoding to MSN Real Estate and Inman.com (http://realestate.msn.com/7-neighborhood-threats-to-your-homes-value also http://www.inman.com/2013/01/30/bad-neighbors-can-affect-appraisals/) one of seven threats to home value is a funeral home, it is listed right there as a "bad neighbor" together with a power plant and landfills etc.

It seems like the leadership at Johns Creek is not worried about the quality of life of its residents. Do we need to get reminded everyday of the mortality of life?

Please disapprove the rezoning request for Case RZ-13-016 and any funeral home or its activities at 10900 Bell Road.
