Downtown Toronto has always been the shopping centre of Toronto. The restrictions in place as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic has had a horrifying impact on small businesses throughout the world, including Toronto. Efforts to curb traffic congestion throughout the last number of years and the construction in the city, has made parking downtown impossible. I am petitioning Mayor John Tory and our city councilors to temporarily lift parking restrictions in Toronto to help encourage curbside pick up and support small business in their effort to survive these devastating economic times. Put a hold on parking enforcement officers ticketing those people who want to come downtown and shop curbside or visit essential services throughout the city. This would be an act of kindness by a government who claims to care about small business but has not done anything to actually help them. Most Torontonians are tired of the speaking points from government. Stay home, we support small business, use curbside pick up even though there are no curbs to use. Take this opportunity to do one single and meaningful thing to actually help small business in Toronto. Small business will thank-you, Torontonians will thank-you and for once our voice will have been heard! Please sign this petition!
