We are facing a major health crisis.  the government is demanding people stay at home.  But with the approaching warm spring weather, its going to be harder and harder to stay inside. 

By closing some residential and lanes on larger arterial roads to motor vehicle traffic, space will be opened so people can go for walks, enjoy the great outdoors and still be able to keep a healthy distance away from each other.  Residents of streets closed will still be able to get their cars out to shop. 

We are not asking to close streets so people can congregate, but to give more room so people can safely move around while keeping safe distance from each other.

Currently most residential streets are empty of traffic so this should not be an issue.  Automobile traffic in Toronto is at an all time low, while the need to safely get outside is at an all time high.  Do the right thing, let the people use the street to safely get some vitamin D and exercise while at the same time safely helping to plank the curve .  Not everyone has a big house and yard to self isolate.
