Housing Is A Humans Right
Homelessness is a big issue in society that affects us all. It has become a social and economic problem. There are many reasons why people become homeless for example; lack of affordable housing, poverty, unemployment, addiction, healthcare resources, crime, and safety, and tax dollars.
There are many people in Canada with different ethnic-racial backgrounds, ages, genders that are experiencing homelessness. Approximately, there are 35,000 Canadians that are homeless in any given night and approximately 235,000 Canadians that are homeless in any given year. And In Toronto, there are over 9,200 people that are homeless. The majority of homeless people live in urban cities such as New York, Toronto, Chicago, Mexico City, etc.
We can not solve homelessness unless we do it together and find different solutions such as decrease rent to make it affordable for people in Toronto. Ending homelessness can improve lives. When people have a safe and secure home there mental well being is good thus leading them to have a better lifestyle and be more aware of what is going on.
