As members of the UCONN community, we strongly urge the university
administration to open a small food outlet on the Storrs campus (or to change an existing outlet such as Wilbur Cross or Bookworm) devoted exclusively to the sale of organic and natural food products free of processed sugars, high fructose syrup and other processed ingredients.
We believe the UCONN community must do so not only to promote a genuinely
healthy diet, but to encourage greater awareness of environmental and
sustainability concerns and to illustrate our concern for the extensive use of
fertilizers and pesticides, regionally and nationally.
