Ask Congressman Pat Tiberi to hold a town hall in the district before repealing Obamacare.
This petition had 1,958 supporters
We, the citizens of Ohio's 12th congressional district, deserve a town hall forum with our member of congress, Pat Tiberi, to express our opinions before he votes on the repeal, introduced January 9th, 2017, of the Affordable Care Act.
No town hall meeting is scheduled before votes on the law begin.
48,711 young adult citizens of the 12th district between the ages 20-24 are eligible for insurance as the law stands. Without it, they would be subject to premiums in the thousands of dollars on the insurance market.
More than 60,000 citizens of the 12th district earn their income directly from the healthcare sector that will be affected by changes to the Affordable Care Act.
Citizens of the 12th with pre-existing conditions can no longer be denied or charged more money for health insurance. This could be at risk without a chance to share their story with their United States Representative in a public forum.
Healthcare is the sixth biggest industry in the American economy, and one of the largest economic factors in Ohio's 12th congressional district.
Citizens deserve to be heard by their representative, in their district, especially when matters of health, life, and death are at stake.
