Overpaid (£275000pa) Vice Chancellor David Maguire has announced cost savings of £4m including the sacking of many committed employees of the University. The Vice Chancellor's flawed strategy pitted the low ranking university against top London universities by raising entry requirements/UCAS points. Subsequently, students have chosen to study at higher ranking universities rather than Greenwich and low student numbers have resulted in the university facing financial difficulty. Prior to David Maguires strategy of raising entry requirements/UCAS points the University of Greenwich was able to recruit sufficient students to remain solvent. David Maguire should reverse his decision on entry requirements and resign with immediate effect.
