Permit Childers Sanitation in Lawrence County

Childers Sanitation, owned and operated by Herman Childers, is seeking a permit to operate within Lawrence County, Kentucky. Though currently permitted and working in Carter County, Mr. Childers is a lifelong resident of Lawrence County. He began receiving requests for service by other Lawrence County residents. These residents are mostly on the outskirts of the county where it is difficult to obtain reliable trash service. Some have simply been refused service, some have just had service stopped abruptly, and others have had it picked up once or twice but the companies never return after taking the customers' money! As a result, their household garbage piles up, which is against county ordinances and they could be fined for it. However, Judge Executive John Osborne and the Fiscal Court have made the decision about who is allowed to pick up trash in the county. They decided Childers Sanitation will not get a permit. Our position is 1) this is a Lawrence County-based business and should be allowed to operate, 2) one service abruptly went out of business, leaving an opening, yet the Court refuses a permit to Childers Sanitation, 3) we live in a country where people should be able to make a living and where the customer should have the right to choose who to hire! If you are a resident of Lawrence County, Kentucky and want YOUR Judge Executive and Fiscal Court to permit this local business, if you are a person who believes in free enterprise and a person's right to make a living and provide for their family, please sign our petition!
