PARKING ON FINLAY RD School Drop Off & Pick Up - Warrawee Public School
Why this petition matters

Parking on Finlay Road for school drop off/pick up at Warrawee Public School is a nightmare for the parents of K-2.
There are over 300 children that enter these gates between 8am and 9.30am and leave these gates between 2pm and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
THE PROBLEM - Parking on Finlay Road (opposite the school) is currently all day parking. This makes it near impossible and incredibly frustrating for the parents to do a drop off/pick up without having to walk a fair distance which, let's face it, is unsustainable with younger children/babies in tow, for pregnant women/grandparents or for parents who are on a tight schedule trying to juggle work/family life. The current arrangement also poses a massive safety issue getting kids in and out of the car and up the road with not all drivers taking proper precautions and some even making illegal turns to combat the mayhem at this time. In addition, many kindergarten students are new to the school environment and are not yet comfortable with the kiss and ride meaning parents need to find parking and walk them into the school gates ensuring they are safe and secure in the schools grounds.
THE SOLUTION - The top end of Finlay Road, between the Pacific Highway and Denman Street, should be 15 minute parking between 8am and 9.30am in the morning and between 2pm and 3.30pm in the afternoons, Monday to Friday which is in line with school zone hours. This will help alleviate the stress and difficulty that many families go through on a weekly basis searching for suitable parking options for the school run.
Please sign this partition to help make a huge difference to the added daily stress of many families in your local community!
