I added flags to the online gallery. They were good designs but didn't make the final cut. I was really excited about the prospect of a new flag. 

However even back then at the start of the process I was predicting a Kyle Lockwood design would get picked, even before 10,000 alternatives had been submitted. The 40 shortlist had some absolute rubbish. The four finalists include two patsies, and strangely, no traditional black with silver fern. 

So these people assigned the job of selecting flag finalists were arrogant enough to tell the people you can NOT have your traditional fern flag as a choice. Instead your choice will be two Lockwoods and two patsies which no one will like. They couldn't risk people wanting the traditional black and silver fern over a lockwood, because the lockwood is the one they want.

But I say give us this choice. How dare you not include the silver fern on black as a choice. 

Some say it is an all black brand and shouldn't be included. Many have been brainwashed into thinking this. But the traditional silver fern on black is used in many other ways, including on our military vehicles and on our soldiers gravestones. Saying it is simply an all black brand is unfair to our soldiers of the past. Some say it is too close to an ISIS flag. Well this is a choice of our flag for centuries to come. ISIS will be well gone sooner than later.

So if Red Peak can be added as an extra option to the referendum, why can the fern flag not be added too? I am sure more people would vote for the fern over red peak.
