Keep Thurrock weekly waste & recycling services

Residents of Thurrock
On 11th February 2015 your councillors will be voting at a cabinet meeting to introduce a fortnightly waste collection service for all three of your bins.
Unite the Union believe you deserve value for money and a decent waste collection service, fortnightly collections are inadequate, they compromise public health and also encourage rats, maggots and flies along with bad odours.
In reality savings could be made by encouraging more recycling which is not only cheaper but is better for the environment and also the planet.
Unite are running a campaign along with this online petition to not only save jobs but to try and stop the council from ruining your waste collections and providing you with a service which, as council tax payers, you deserve.
If you are resident of Thurrock and you disagree with the council’s proposals please sign and share this petition.
