Stop Legal Abuse of Domestic Violence Survivors
Stop Legal Abuse of Domestic Violence Survivors
I am petitioning to protect the rights of domestic violence survivors. I thought exiting the children and I from the severely abusive situation would be the most difficult. I protected the children from verbal and physical abuse. I went to work with black eyes and bruises all over my neck and arms and sipped soup through straws for days until the injuries healed. The numerous written witness statements regarding what the children and I experienced were ignored by the Guardian. The last attack occurred February 10, 2013 as chased me down in the street, choked me until I lost my vision and could no longer fight, threw me to the sidewalk and vowed that I would never see my children ever again because he would kill me. Police saved my life that night. I should have listened to the police and not his parents. I was trying to be fair for all involved and not completely alienate my two young sons from their father and his family. I should have let him go to prison for almost killing me on more than one occasion. As of May 9, 2013, the children and I escaped to a domestic violence shelter with only a backpack each of our belongings. , physically came after me in the Golden Corral parking lot in Canton, Ohio May 12, 2013 stating that if I did not go "back home to her son" that she would make sure I lost all of my children and regret seeking shelter and protection. She kept her promise. I never imagined that as of March 21, 2014, my two young sons ages 5 years old and 4 years old would be taken exparte by 6 police cars and social workers and completely alienated from their siblings and I secondary to the coercion and unsubstantiated suppositions of our abuser's legal team in Stark County, Ohio. I have stacks of documentation that have horrified even the most powerful attorneys. The children and I protected each other and were each other's solace. Now we are unable to protect . We have no information regarding their welfare and are not permitted any contact by their biological father and his parents. I pray for their safety and emotional well being daily. This legal abuse and alienation is perpetuation of the abuse we experienced. Please petitition to change the rights currently denied and protect the futures and well being of domestic violence survivors in and ultimately globally.
