Why this petition matters

Let's tell Premier John Horgan that we'd like all BC students and BCEd school employees to wear government provided faceshields to school.

Since BC officials seem to like quoting what other countries are doing, how's this for an idea to copy? Japanese students (of all ages) are heading back to school with faceshields. Faceshields don't work as well as masks if aerosols are floating about. But if everyone has a faceshield on, that's less likely to happen when the virus is shed.

This is also the plan in Singapore: https://youtu.be/weP3vDaj77M

At least masks will be required in Ontario.

Here in BC? There's no plan besides maybe requiring masks in hallways and on buses. With all students back at school, spacing desks 2 metres apart won't be possible.

Yes, people are on summer holiday but maybe it's time for the many parents who weren't given a chance to fill in a survey to speak up.

Let's support our teachers and school administrators, who are being put into unsafe working conditions. Let's protect children and their family members - many of whom are classified as vulnerable.

With no Desks 2 Metres Apart Floor Plan (AKA social distancing), no required PPE and larger social bubbles of 60 or 120 X those peoples' contacts, BC families and school employees are heading into a scary experiment that could affect people's long term health and cost people their lives!
