Rebecca E started this petition to John Glen (Salisbury Conservative Party, 12 Brown Street, Salisbury, SP11HE) and

In the middle of a national crisis. As of the 1st June 2020 lockdown is eased and Wiltshire Council bring back parking charges to its car parks including Salisbury City Car Parks. No shops are yet open other than those that are essential such as supermarkets and pharmacies, there is still a limited bus service and no park and ride, all NHS, Care Workers and Council Staff receive free parking but those that work in supermarkets, pharmacies, nurseries and other food retailers have to pay the extortionate price to pay to park to go to work, to work endless hours, to put food on everyone’s table, to earn less an hour than it is to park their car for the day in Salisbury. These people haven’t been sat at home getting their free money from the government, they’ve been working round the clock, putting their lives at risks, their families lives at risk, to be shouted at, coughed at and moaned at because they didn’t have any toilet roll or canned veg on the shelves and now they have to pay for the privilege. You are forgetting without these people, the NHS would have been put under more pressure with people starving or going without medication. Wiltshire Council you have hit an all time low. Please ease the parking charges and ensure All Key workers receive free parking
