Replace the Old Growth Tree that Drexel cut down on campus

This petition had 39 supporters

Drexel is building on campus. It has closed much of the center of campus, and has cut down an old growth tree. We should plant another old growth tree in it's place. In the concrete jungle of Philadelphia, the Drexel community requires a green space and trees. Green space is important for mental and physical health. It is used for recreation, relaxation, and fresh air. Where else will find shade a place to put our hammocks ? Green space is a necessity for the well being of city dwellers, Drexel students in particular and provides vital habitat for urban animals. They cut down an old growth tree. We can plant a young tree that will decades to grow to size. Rather, we should directly plant an old growth tree. Let's tell John Fry that we need and require green space!  Let's plant an old growth tree.
