Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle's current budget decimates the Cook County Public Guardian's Office by eliminating critical personnel that advocate for the abused and neglected children and disabled adults in Cook County.
Contact the Cook County commissioners and tell them to vote no for the Cook County budget in its current form.
The Cook County Public Guardian's Office falls under the Chief Judges office. Tell the County Commissioners to allow the Public Guardian to implement his budget as he sees fit. Let the commissioners know that the people of Cook County care about its voiceless citizens: abused and neglected children and disabled adults and theat they deserve to receive the same representation that they have been receiving for the last 26+years, not less. Let the County Commissioners know that the electorate of Cook County will not fall for President Preckwinkle's gross mischaracterization of the Public Guardian's essential employees as "middle management". In these time of uncertainty and little faith, let us ensure that the 6000 abused and neglected and 600 highly contested domestic relations children and 600 disabled adults currently represented by the Public Guardian's office continue to get the statutory they deserve.
