Hi I’m Jeremy Gregory but call me Shawn I’m a junior at Kipp Collegiate Highschool. So this year I have had last lunch. And when get our food there seems to be so much food left over and it being disposed of. I asked my brother and he said the same thing happens at his Highschool.  Some of my friends also say it happens at there school too. So I thought something needs to be done about this. My proposal to this extra food that just being wasted is at the end of the school day all the extra food from that day would be given out to students and teachers at that school that need it. I go to a low minority school and I’m few of the white people who go there. So I see people of color and my own race struggle financially. People use food stamps and money from the government for food but sometime that’s not enough to feed 3 or more kids. So in order to stop familes from be hungry and stop lower minorities from being thought that they will never make it out ive come up with a solution. In order to build a sense of community the cafe should give the extra food out to the students and teachers who may not always have this food to begin with. Since the people’s money from taxes pay for schools to run I think In order to stop the wastefulness of the extra food we should give it out in a food drive so people know they aren’t alone and metro schools are there to help families in need of extra assistance due to their financial circumstances. I think this will cause a change within our community for the next generation who had problems in the personal families financial circumstances to find success and know they don’t need to be a victim to there environment. Please consider!
