As a prominent broadcaster and evangelist, John E. Brown Sr. founded our institution in 1919 on the belief that communication matters. Our legacy as a department throughout the years has been noteworthy and our students' work award-winning. 

However, on March 1, communication students at John Brown University were told that the institution is completely cutting the Communication department. This puts our future and work as student journalists on the chopping block. 

While we understand the unlikeliness of changing the fate of the department, and while we are not surprised at the administration’s actions, we will not stay quiet about the cost this has for JBU beyond resolving their finances.
