As a parent I fully support my children’s health being made a priority, however there is no way these kids should have to be fully masked throughout the school day! They are children…this is going to be absolute chaos and distractions for children and for the teachers who will have to address problems during learning times. This also adds pressure to our kids behavior, as far as consequences,  as I am sure if they do not keep the mask on, or play with it (like kids will naturally do) it will affect their daily conduct! If parents are okay with masking their kids they should, however those who are opposed to it should also be allowed to opt out. If the people potentially threatened by the virus mask up, then it seems the mask should protect them? That’s what it’s for right ? These kids should not have to be masked during school. School bus..fine! Doctors office..fine! But those are very small amounts of time for them to keep a mask on. 8 hours is a long time for children to be masked and plus some of they go to daycare afterwards. Yes… I could keep them home to avoid it, but I refuse to take away the slim amount of normalcy they know. They deserve to be with their friends, and to be excited about school. I will not take that from them. I am just a mom who knows her kids won’t keep a mask on for 8 hours! This is not to target any schools or teachers so please do not take this mandate out on them. This is not their doing.
