Blind Jim ivy an African American is the sole reason for the Mascot and the rebel yell as some call it.Based on an artist's creation is how the image came to life to represent blind Jim ivy.The colonel image strike's a better tone than an African American tone with the audience in the stands.

Because if you are offended by a Mascot you are part of the problem. I am afraid of Bulldogs, but not offended or scared of a Bulldog Mascot.
