We have been struggling for over a year now, to recover from this pandemic. Health care workers had no choice in the matter, on being on the front lines. They couldn’t abide by the stay at home orders because they are deemed “essential workers”, but yet they haven’t really given them anything for this. This is also for teachers as well, who are faced with contracting the virus daily, trying to teach Louisiana’s children to make a better future for us, because as the saying goes “That’s who they are”. Both parties in this petition are faced with higher chances of becoming ill or even dying from this virus, because of how much they deal with the public. If they have been putting their health and safety on the line shouldn’t they be compensated too? States are starting to put forth the effort to help their people with a 4th stimulus payment and Louisiana has said nothing. They decided to do a lottery for a COVID shot instead. Money that could have been distributed out to help more than just 13 people. GovernorJohn Bel Edwards do better.
