Stop Construction of Scranton Aquarium and Terrarium

The Marketplace at Steamtown is a mall. A mall is a place for people to shop, grab some food or go to the gym. A mall is not an animal sanctuary. A mall is not a zoo. A mall is certainly no place for animals to spend the rest of their lives in.
The man who is going to own and operate the enclosures is Cliff Grosvenor. He is a "fish and animal enthusiast"; not a biologist or conservationist. Schools will have trips where they can "pet" rays and other animals, as if this is a tool to help children learn.
Many experts agree that "petting pools" disrupt the pH balance of their pools and stress the animals out. These trips, as well as passersby will have the chance to potentially harm the animals as well. The Marketplace wants to hold parties for children at the enclosures too. But animals are not entertainment. And this stance is entirely hypocritical of their original stance that this will be a learning center.
