Babely Shades has started a petition against The Queers/Riptides show February 21st in Ottawa-a hugely influential punk band that has supported gay rights and the rights of all minorities for over 20 years. Slanderous attacks against them are against all gay and minority people of the world! Joe Queer-notoriously gay and married to a transgender person-wants what is right in the world and sees life as multi-colored not black and white. His support of Officer Darren Wilson in the Ferguson,MO affair shows he's a fair observer and not afraid to put his reputation on the line. (Officer Wilson was absolved of all wrongdoing by a grand jury after 3 months of testimony showing he was fully justified in his actions). Mr. Queer has been very vocal in his denunciation of the militarization of the US police and police brutality around the world yet didn't hesitate to stick up for what he felt was right in Ferguson,MO. Right or wrong it's hardly racist to stick up for a police officer one time.
