The Libertarian party deserves to be represented at the debates. The other candidates are just afraid of competing with somebody who is competent.

Because I support the idea of an electorate that is based on the candidates, rather than the voters. Party lines create an adversarial environment that would not otherwise exist. Each party panders to what they perceive as their base, creating a tribalist mindset among their voters.

I don't like that. I don't think it's healthy for our country, and I don't think it's healthy for us as individuals or as socialites.

These party lines create animosity between individuals who might otherwise be friends. They politicize everything from a bad flu season to our deodorant. I'm tired of it.

The American people deserve a better system. We deserve a system where the most qualified among us for the job are voted in on a descending electoral scale. We need candidates who are going to give their honest platform, rather than something they whipped up from a demographics chart that someone emailed to them a week ago.

We need to stop dipping our toes into what a democratic republic is supposed to look like, and dive head first into what it's supposed to be. We had elections like this once upon a time. Going back to that tradition would solve a great number of our woes as a society.
