Stop the proposed school re-zoning

Green Valley is an established community in Henderson. Those of us currently zoned to Greenspun Junior High School have purchased our homes with the intent of our children attending that school for various reasons. Some of us have other children there, some for the more extensive extra curricular activities and sports provided. Some because of the sense of community we have in our neighborhood that has been reflected already in this school.. and that involvement and passion about the school is what makes it such a great school. Many many parents in my neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods purchased their home based on the middle and high schools it was zoned to. We are NOT okay with the proposal to re-zone section K (particularly the neighborhoods East of Pecos, South of Robindale to Schofield Middle School. I understand White middle school is becoming a magnet, but there must be a better solution than tearing apart a well-established (NOT in a growth area) community. Approximately 6 years ago our neighborhood was re-zoned from Bob Miller to Greenspun. If you MUST move us out of Greenspun, at least consider a move back to Bob Miller where students will continue on with their peers to Coronado Highschool.
We voiced our concerns in large numbers at the AZAC meeting on Thursday, January 18th at Coronado High. We want to be heard. www.fox5vegas.com/story/37301046/parents-upset-over-possible-changes-to-henderson-middle-school-boundaries
