Horses who drag carriages isn’t a beautiful experience, it’s exploitation. These horses are exploited for a 5 minute experience for people to have a nice “memory” to reminisce about. When it could actually take just 5 minutes for one to pass away. Horses lives are put in jeopardy and even to death due to this exploitation. With such high traffic volume and car volume their injuries and death rates rise. On September 24th 2021 in New York City a horse pulling a carriage collided with a car left unconscious and incapable of getting up. This was near the intersection of West 55th Street and Eighth Avenue around 5:15 p.m. The end result, the horse suffered a bloody injuryleaving a large gash on it’s leg . Many cities such as Biloxi, Mississippi; Camden, New Jersey; Key West, Palm Beach, Pompano Beach, and Treasure Island, Florida and Salt Lake City have already banned horse carriages.
