Throughout his life, Alex Trebek was one of the finest public figures in the United States. He hosted Jeopardy for nearly 40 years, where he spread joy, knowledge, insight, and comfort to millions of Americans everyday. He kept this work up even through the worst of times. Through national tragedies such as 9/11, and through his own personal struggle with pancreatic cancer, he continue to shine through on the air with a contagious set of humor and smile on his face. It would be only appropriate to award him a posthumous award to reward him for his contributions to our country and our world.
