It imperative that we keep guards on trains not just for the sake of human safety but also for the sake of dogs like Ronnie who was killed by his abusive owner on a train!

Though I live in Hampshire, if I travel by train I would need someone else on the train beside the driver. I'm disabled with mobility problems, and often the disabled assistance I book doesn't turn up, leaving me trapped on the train when it starts to leave the station that was meant to be my destination. Who the hell are we going to ask for help, if there is no guard on the train? Is the driver supposed to both drive the train and deal with any problems that happen? And what of incidents that happen on the train; crime, assaults, sudden catastrophic health crises like a heart attack? Is the driver supposed to deal with those, too?

How can you run a train with no guards? It's insane, passenger safety will be compromised.

For the safety of children who ride the train alone or elderly and women or anyone really for that matter, I think with no guard on the train is an absolute breeding ground for crime. CCTV can't stop the crime from happening in the beginning.
