Crosswalk Needed for St. John Vianney Catholic School

We the undersigned believe that there is a current risk to the safety of the children attending St. John Vianney Catholic School and to members of the surrounding community. Every school day, parents of the 785 students at the school use the St. John Vianney Church parking lot as a safe zone to drop children off to school. This requires children from ages 4 to 14 to cross Cedarview Ave. near the corner of Dieppe Ave. to reach the school, with no crosswalk to warn traffic of their crossing. As you can imagine, street traffic is incredibly congested during school drop off and pick up times. During church services, the reverse problem is also true, with attendees parking in the school parking lot to attend. We believe the city of Windsor should eliminate this immediate danger to the students and residents of the local neighbourhood with the designation of a specified crosswalk at Cedarview Ave. before a child is injured or worse.
