Kings Landing Historical Settlement Changes

We, the undersigned, are disappointed in the on-going operational and interpretive direction Kings Landing Historical Settlement is taking. Specifically, we are bothered by the stories silenced by removal of the history and artifacts associated with the Hagerman, Joslin and Jones houses, turning them into museum spaces (Hagerman Gallery, Joslin Farm Gallery, Jones Gallery) for exhibits. Museums have their place and purpose; however, this is not what these houses were donated for. When the interaction between visitors and character actors is removed, the stories are lost. We find the resulting experience uninteresting, lacking life and soul. If the settlement’s existence is rooted in the value of narratives and stories, and their value to this part of New Brunswick, please have the 19th-century stories, artifacts and characters restored to these houses and include these houses in the Kings Landing 1st person interpretive “Village Experience”.
