This is a message from people who love and support the trans community. We want to witness and support JK Rowling coming out as a survivor of sexual assault and domestic abuse.

• We wish, wish all our hearts, that you will find peace and healing for all that you've been through.  

We want you to know that we take you literally and seriously when you say that, "Trans people need and deserve protection... I feel nothing but empathy and solidarity with trans women who’ve been abused by men." We believe your heart is in the right place, and we want you to be on our side.

We are returning your empathy and your solidarity, by donating to Safelives, a trans-inclusive charity that fights domestic abuse in the UK. We hope this gift is a reminder that we're on the same side, and a chance for us all to find new ways to work together against male violence. 

We hope that you know that we are a not a danger to the women of the UK and that trans women are women. All we ask is that you hear us with an open heart when we ask for what we need to be safe and respect our rights as we respect yours.
