Chief Peter Sloly has completely failed the people of Ottawa specifically Centretown and the Downtown core. The “Freedom Convoy” has been terrorizing the city for over a week and the lack of Police action is rather concerning when compared to other protests in the past where riot police and forceful tactics were used without a second thought. It is apparent that a double standard exists here and Peter Sloly is happy to let the Convoy continue their assault of Ottawan’s livelihood and well being. 

It is curious that at the G20 protests in 2010 Peter Sloly then Toronto Police Deputy Chief had no problem overseeing the arrest of over 1000 people, but can do nothing about the Convoy. Could it be that he is in support of this group that happily flies “Thin Blue Line” flags? Only he knows why he hasn’t done more but it is time for a change to a chief willing to protect their city!

Jim Watson and Ottawa City Counsel we call upon you to fire Peter Sloly and find a chief that will protect the city and it’s residents. Enough is enough!
