Nicole Weingartner started this petition to Jim Paponetti, CAE - Chief Executive Officer at Alpha Sigma Tau

Alpha Sigma Tau was founded more the 118 years ago. Many women have been empowered by this organization. A sorority, a sisterhood connects women through shared interest in philanthropic causes, shared values, and shared rituals. This sisterhood is one that is built on trust and cultivated over time together in the sorority, it is a sisterhood that does not break with the ebb and flow of life.

The Monmouth Chapter, Beta Omega, has provided many women a strong and safe place to practice the core values of this sorority: intellect, excellence, graciousness, respect, and lifelong connections. These values inspired four alumnae: Cori Buscemi, Natalie Smith, Alyssa Hayek, and Nichole Noel to stay involved with the chapter after graduation.

We the undersigned feel that the sisterhood of these four extraordinary women is in jeopardy. We feel that it is an admirable feat that they choose to be active members of the alumnae council to help promote our values to future generations of Alpha Sigma Tau women. We feel that they are being treated harshly for a situation they knew little to nothing about. We feel that as per the bylaws, if any action must be taken, then it should be probation as opposed to the dismissal of these four women as members. It would be a severe disservice to lose these exemplary women from our chapter history. They are excellent examples of strong, independent women, and we believe it would be a great loss to not share their history and their stories with future Alpha Sigma Tau women to come.
