Cars keep us isolated; buses, bikes, and walking boots help us form the connections Philadelphia needs moving forward.

This would be a wonderful way to showcase the shopping district in Philadelphia.

I bike through center city often. The only time I don’t is when I take the bus, but rush hour on chestnut adds 30 mins to my commute.

Honestly, I usually get off about 10-15 blocks earlier than I need to because it’s faster to walk.

It takes nearly the whole green light to turn on chestnut, there are too many pedestrians, blocking the flow of traffic in the right lane. And there are Uber’s blocking the left every block to pick up and drop off passengers.

This is a GREAT idea!

The chestnut street bridge is closed and "wow!" people found ways to get around without excess congestion! A summer pilot would be a great conversation starter, and perfect while the bridge is still under construction (and maybe even become permanent one day)

Biking down chestnut street is a nightmare. Crossing the street walking down chestnut street is a nightmare. Give the non-drivers a break please!

Chestnut street is possibly the worst road to drive on at ANY GIVEN HOUR of the day. This concept to close it as a pedestrian and bus corridor would be an incredible solution, would stimulate so much more business and create a much safer environment for everyone. Especially those visiting the city from elsewhere and even abroad. I see quality of tourism increasing as a result. But really, deep down, no human being ever actually wants to be driving down that street.... like EVER. So just cut out the problem. It is faster to circumvent Chestnut than it is to deal with it anyway.

more pedestrian/bike dedicated areas will encourage fewer cars in center city.
