FORTUNE GREEN NW6 NEEDS A SAFE, ENCLOSED SPACE FOR A DOG PARK

We the undersigned support this petition as we would like Camden Council to provide an enclosed dog park in Fortune Green. We support the interests of the dog owners’ community and seek an enclosed dog park for dogs to run freely and safely off-leash. Such a park would allow families with dogs to spend more quality time with their pets. This park would increase opportunities for residents to interact with their neighbours and help create a greater sense of community.
Fortune Green already has a large and growing population of dogs and it has become an important community in the area. We seek a dedicated, safe park so that the community of dog walkers/owners can remain together within the area. We are keen to secure a piece of land on Fortune Green for an enclosed dog park for our diverse dog walker’s community.
As Camden Council is currently seeking to change legislation to have dogs kept on-lead in Hampstead Cemetery, and all public paths, giving dogs adequate exercise will become nearly impossible for those without large gardens.
A dog park would significantly help with dog-fouling issue by providing a maintained environment for people to walk their dogs off-lead. It would provide somewhere for people to exercise their dogs locally.
