Hi Friends and Neighbours

I am writing because I am concerned about the proposed upgrade to the Mobile Phone tower by TPG and Kordia Solutions Australia, near Junction Park State School (Utility Pole: P19121 on Road Verge, Opposite 1 Gowrie Street, Annerley, QLD, 4103) . My son goes to Junction Park and we have raised the issue of the tower with the school at his enrollment. As there is already an extremely large tower near the school the introduction of smaller cells around the schools will increase the EMF exposure at the school and the surrounding homes.
There is increasing research including from New Scientist Magazine and the W.H.O about the possible negative health impacts of Electromagnetic Radiation. This is especially relevant to children, but also to those who are more sensitive such as those with autoimmune conditions, cancer, pregnant and the elderly.

Below are some links to relevant research and evidence as to the impacts of EMF:

Whilst I appreciate that we all want and need to be connected in this day and age I don’t believe that anyone in this community would want this at the cost of our children’s future health. Accordingly I believe they can find a more suitable location that is not within a residential area, near a school and public library.
There has been significant successful opposition to the installation of towers near schools in the past in Brisbane - New Farm, Dutton Park and Rainworth.
Junction Park is an exceptional school with the most beautiful community and we don’t want to leave it. I know as a community we can find a better way to maintain infrastructure and keep our kids safe, happy and healthy.

Thanks

Jess
