Transportation reimbursement should be given to all resident students

Jersey City Board of Education Transportation Department is refusing to give my son a transportation reimbursement because he will be going to school in New York City. We are Jersey City residents, we pay our taxes here and those taxes go to the public schools in Jersey City. Jersey City gives transportation reimbursement to students to the same distance within the state, but not if you go to another state. New York also refuses to give transportation guidance because we are not New York residents which we agree because we do not pay our taxes in New York City.
The State Transportation Policy actually allows the courtesy reimbursements and allows each district makes its own decisions about them.
For families who have a budget for education, who are residents of our city, this current policy needs to change. Our residents need Jersey City Board of Education's support for all of the students who seek education.
