Stop using our children as fodder for the British Economy by setting ridiculously high 'old Etonian' style academic standards that do not suit every child or take into account their differing needs. Also take all the history topics covering death out of the primary curriculum as not only the tests but the topics are inappropriate at primary level, robbing our children of their childhood. Increasing anxiety reduces creativity and free thinking. I will not stand for our children being turned into robotic rote learners whose mental wellbeing and health is eroded so we can compete with other countries.Treat our children as human beings by putting wellbeing high on the agenda and monitoring it through their school life. The UK is heading for a wellbeing crisis and it will cost the economy billions if you don't stop the ridiculous exams, unachievable standards, disturbing history topics and levels of homework that erodes normal family life. So start to monitor child wellbeing and read up on the economic and social benefits of societies that put schoolchild wellbeing high on the agenda!

Why are even testing kids as young as 7..?.. Surely there is another way.

Testing of primary school children is a wholly unnecessary evil. Teachers who see these children every day know what their capabilities and problems are. Indeed with less time spent on tests and assessments they could be even more aware of any issues! Let children be carefree while they can.

My children's long term health was ignored and put down as laziness and daydreaming it was Epilepsy social anxiety and depression but they were punished for it by people's ignoreance (sic)

I want my grandsons to be happy in their schools, not stressed. Childhood is for growing sense of self confidence not stress.

I'm signing because I care about our children and seeing our children grow up to be healthy, happy, fulfilled human beings who value themselves and those around them. People who are emotionally stable to give back to their community and society. People who make this world a more joyful and kind place to live in because they are comfortable with who they are. People who understand and appreciate that their own strengths, gifting and abilities are even more important than the exams they pass. A world where children are not labelled and a ceiling put on their destinies from the age of 7 or even worse still 4. Children who are free to grow, develop, discover who they are, what makes them tick, what are the things they are and can be passionate about, who put that passion to good purpose as they prepare for life and not just prepared to pass exams for the whole of their childhood. Please for the sake of all our futures and the future of our communities, society and world, let children be the very best they can be and remove the causes of the growing tide of anxiety and mental health issues that increasingly afflict our young people. PLEASE - and thank you for listening. Nina

As a Registered Counsellor specifically trained to work with Children, I see the results of the toxic mix of poverty and ill health, Children have no voice. Camhs services have been slashed, family services have gone, and in some areas untrained, and unqualified people work with Children who are mentally ill. Add the closure of Children's centres to this, which was prevention, and it's clear that this government has abandoned our children.

The new survey isn't due to be published until 2018, consultation just closed. Can it be speeded up?
