NHS campaigners across Britain are feeling disappointed after Jeremy Corbyn forgot to mention Caroline Lucas's NHS Bill in his conference speech, a bill to which he is a signatory.

The Private Members Bill, due its second reading in March 2016, aims to rescue the NHS from privatisation and place it back into the hands of the Secretary of State for health.

There are numerous Tory marginals where the NHS is a major issue, not least because of the downgrading of local hospital services.  These include places like Stafford, Cannock, Redditch, Telford, Worcester, Illford, South Staffs, Sutton and Cheam and Enfield North, to name but a few.

We the undersigned would like Jeremy Corbyn to liaise with local hospital campaigns in these constituencies and to visit these towns at least once between now and March in order to educate the people there about the bill and to launch petitions of their local Tory MPs.  We believe that if we can get tens of thousands of people petitioning these particular MPs to support the NHS Bill then we might have a chance of persuading some Conservative politicians to support our cause.  Remember, they only have a majority of 12.

Jeremy, NHS campaigners have been screaming for help as if in a nightmare for many years now.  We need high-profile support and vocal leadership fast, before our NHS, free at the point of use with equal access for all is gone forever.

The trolley queues pictured above were at the University Hospital of North Midlands in Stoke, not in winter, but in the middle of May.

Our voices must be heard.
