Highbury Fields Bandstand is a NON PROFIT community stay and play provision for families and carers of children under five.  We provide a safe and supportive environment where adults can come and have stimulating quality play with their  young children, as well as support and advice from qualified caring staff.  Many of our users are isolated, first time mums who feel unsure and nervous and need a place where they can feel unjudged and supported by staff, but essentially, other parents.  Many friendships and support groups have been formed over the years at the bandstand.  Siblings have spent their formative years here and children have grown up and now bring their children...or even grandchildren .  The Bandstand is a huge part of the Islington community and is accessible to all with young children.  As usual the council are cutting funding to voluntary sector and community groups...those on ground level who deal with a myriad of people with complex needs but do not bring the council this case Islington early years dept. We have just had our part funding cut by 70% which basically means likely closure by April/May unless we can reverse their decision, or find revenue from other sources, which all the other groups who have been cut are also fighting for.  Please sign our petition to save the Bandstand,  we need to reverse the councils unfair decision to cut a small local provision that supports local families and carers of young children. Also,  write to our local MP Jeremy Corbyn and also the head of early years Penny Kenway Please help us to fight the cuts and destruction of community provision.  Thank you
