Ryan Carter started this petition to Jeremy Corbyn (Leader of Labour Party) and

At a time when the World Health Organisation (WHO) are forecasting that by 2020 depression will be the second largest contributor to the global burden of diseases. Far, far, more needs to be done at state level and across multinational organisations such as the European Union and other international bodies to tackle the plight of mental health. It is a problem in the UK, the EU and worldwide and this problem will not be solved by charities alone. We the undersigned call upon you to make efforts and commit to promoting a collective and well funded response to the rise in mental health problems at home and abroad.

Charities are doing great work, but is it more than frustrating that so much of this support has to come from charities and if there is to be a sizeable reduction in poor mental health in the foreseeable future then action is needed. If this is to happen then mental health problems which can affect anyone of us, needs a collective, well funded response to defeat it.
