Every single week two women are killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales.

Many victims of domestic violence and abuse suffer for months, years and decades quietly without reporting to the police due to the effect and conditioning of the prolonged abuse as well as other external pressures.

Some survivors manage to get out and try to rebuild their shattered lives and get past the psychological impact of the abuse.

After detaching themselves and protecting  children from witnessing any more abusive behaviour, they finally find the courage to report to the police in order to get closure and justice and move on.

However the law states that domestic abuse is a summary offence so even though it may be proven and corroborrated by witnesses, if a victim did not report the crime within 6 months, the perpetrator CANNOT be charged.

This means that after torturing someone for many years on a daily basis, the perpetrator will go free whilst the victim battles with the continued effects of the trauma for many years to come.

Crime is a crime whether within 6 months or not and should be punished for and domestic abuse is one of the worst crimes, reoccurring multiple times on a daily basis for many years, from the person who is supposed to be a loving, respectful and supportive life partner.

Please support this to get justice for anyone you know who has suffered and continues to suffer from the effects of a violent and abusive partner and hasn't been served justice.
