I want the Government & Local Authorities to be more transparent with term time fine money

After reading that fines for parents who take their children away during term time have raised £24 millions pounds, and also hearing that the Tories voted to abolish free school meals for children, I would like to know why the money raised from these fines is not being put back in to schools, education and in to providing free school meals for children. For some children, this might be their only hot meal of the day. In 2018, we shouldn’t be asking why free meals have been taken away from children, especially those from poor and working poor families. Local authorities and the government need to be more transparent about where this money is actually going and what it is being used for and how fining parents is benefitting their children during a time when austerity meaasures are affecting children’s futures.
